The purpose of the Music Ministry is to share the
gospel of Jesus Christ through song, encourage believers in their
walk with Christ, lead the congregation in worship and provide an
avenue through which individuals may share their gift and be an
integral part of the worship. The Music Ministry spreads the Word
of God through music experiences.
Members of Music Ministry must...
Foster a positive working relationship with the
It is essential that all participants support and
understand that it is the role of the pastor to serve as the primary
liturgist of the parish. It is his responsibility to set the tone
of the Sacred Liturgy. It is important that music ministers are
able to follow the direction of the presider.
Be committed to the music ministry
Members must be willing to continually grow as it
is critical that we strive for excellence when serving the Divine
Liturgy. We expect our music ministers to practice and take their
commitment seriously. Poor musical quality can distract from the
beauty of the liturgy.
Be committed to weekly rehearsals
Our goal is to develop as musicians and servants of
the community. Therefore, rehearsals are required. It is critical
that you are prepared to serve the liturgy.
Arrive no later than one hour before the liturgy so
all equipment/music can be setup and checked, music gone over and,
so that last minute instructions may be reviewed.
